PsYchology, design and THE COLOUR ORANGE. What does it mean?

I have a strange relationship with orange. Get the shade right and combine her with the right pallet and I feel safe warm and happy. Mix in too much yellow, make her too bright or get the pattern wrong and orange can be my worst nightmare. I went to find out why...

I see the world in colour pallets. Hues & Shades, combinations & clashes. today the colour orange is in my mind

I decided to take a look into Orange and the psychology behind the hues.

In meditaion terms the colour orange connects to your Sacral Chakra . This comes down to your "gut instinct" and drives your energy, compassion,  emotional stability and a zest for life.

The warmth of red combined with the energy and joy of yellow makes orange a colour of strenght and is often seen as a great colour in healing to aid in recovery from dissapointment, despair and even grief.

On a psychological level the colour orange is used to help bring about a positive outlook on life and to uplift  and rejuvenate us. Bring out the glass of orange juice and get staring as you will start to see the glass is not just full but over flowing.

Orange is meant to improve and stimulate social communication and to get people thinking, talking and interacting, In fact orange has been said to stimulate the appetite.. hence the terracota and peachy walls restaurants use to increase interation and appatite. Anorexics, don't get an orange fridge and pret need to tweak their menu boards although be warned as too much fire in you flame can lead to arrogance, selfishness and a lack of care for others.

According to bourncreative :

"Studies show that the orange color can create physical effects such as increased hunger, heightened sense of activity, increased socialization, boost in aspiration, stimulated mental activity, increased oxygen supply to the brain, increased contentment, and enhanced assurance. Orange also helps aid decision making, and enhances happiness, confidence, and understanding."
